Presentations:
All my historical characters are
presented in a highly visually stimulating, fun filled and interactive
presentation. As you sit back and enjoy the show, you may not realize how
much you actually learned about the life and times of your chosen person. I absolutely love performing for and teaching children, and have been
complimented that this is highly conveyed in my presentations. A child's
mind is ripe for learning, and I believe they can receive so much through
visual stimulation. All presentations end with a question and answer
session.
Sir
Tom of Warwick The last man knighted by King Arthur 1280-
Travel back in time to the "Dark
Ages"
a time when brave knights protected all people. Meet Sir Tom
the last person
knighted by the legendary King Arthur himself. You will hear the legend of King
Arthur and learn of medieval times thru word and song. This is an interactive show, where
you will see a full suit of armor. Some children will become squires. One lucky person will become King or
Queen if he or she can draw the sword "Excalibur" from
the stone. Have a go at the sword,
try on parts of the suit, the coat of mail, or look at the weapons used by
the brave knights. Chivalry is not dead! Enjoy this fun, extremely visual
presentation.
Leonardo DaVinci 1452-1519
Quite conceivably the most gifted
genius of all time. This show is great for history, art, and science. See
the "Mona Lisa, the Vitruvian Man, The Last Supper, and many models of his
inventions from hydraulics to flight. This show is designed to stimulate
the mind to be able to create something from nothing. Through Leonardo, learn
to think "outside" the box. Using many exciting props, you will learn of
the many contributions to mankind this individual gave us. The true
Renaissance man!
Galileo Galilei 1564-1642
Listen as Galileo presents his life,
discoveries, and experiments. You will take part in helping prove some of
his theories. This is a colorful presentation for all ages. His
involvement with mathematics, physics, astronomy and the church are
explored. This is a fun filled, fast paced, presentation of "The Father of
the Scientific Method" and "Astronomy"! ( I really enjoy this character,
and have performed this show before thousands of children).
Wilbur Wright 1867-1912
Visit Wilbur in his bicycle shop.
Let him tell you of his inspiration to flight by a kid's toy given to he
and his brother Orville, by their dad. Discover inventions they created,
and the obstacles they had to overcome. See models conveying the Century
of Flight, from the 1903 Wright flyer to the SST. Get harnessed into a
hang glider and "feel" firsthand the characteristics of flight. You will
learn how these two, self-taught, true American mechanical engineers,
achieved the first heavier than air, powered flight in history!
Space
Shuttle Pilot 1960-
This show encompasses the entire
space program and space exploration. The main core of the show, entitled
"From Sputnik to the Moon the history of manned space flight"
demonstrates in detail, the space race and how man got to the moon. This
show can be tailored to. The solar system, the moon, rocketry or space
travel. I display authentic memorabilia that fills a 40 foot table.
Rockets from Mercury to Apollo, model rocketry, Time and Life magazines,
space food, moon landing newspapers, space mission patches, space toys and
more. A demonstration of our exploration of Mars and the outer planets
generates many questions as to where and what our children can achieve in
the near future. This presentation usually ends outside with an actual
model rocket launch. We need to enlighten our children about our
miraculous achievements over 30 years ago and the benefits thru continued
exploration in our future.
Fees:
I realize that many schools and institutions have limited budgets today.
Keeping this in mind, my fee is only $400.00. For this price, you "own" me
for the day and can tailor multiple performances as well as auditorium and
individual classroom shows. I believe my fee is considerably less
expensive than many enrichment programs available. If you can't afford a
field trip
. bring the field trip to you and save dollars!
I charge $150.00 for large star
parties, birthday parties, and special evening performances.
Girl scout and Boy Scout badge
workshops are negotiable.
